Cyber Security of Medical Devices

The opportunities for IoT to revolutionise healthcare are vast. In the future increased connectivity between devices and medical services will create unprecedented quantities of patient data and monitoring capabilities. However, these increased levels of connected devices in turn raises potential quality, safety, and security issues for the healthcare industry. There have been some very public examples of IoT flaws including hospitals being targeted by ransomware with patient records being encrypted. It is essential the healthcare industry embraces the benefits of the IoT but also protects against the increased security and safety risks.

In this presentation, we will be exploring the technical challenges facing the healthcare IoT industry, reviewing the current myriad of competing industry standards and the incoming GDPR regulation. We will outline a certification process which utilises Tessolve specialist IoT knowledge and experience of testing medical software against standard IEC 62304. About the Conference

The programme for this conference has been built around subjects suggested by healthcare personnel. The day will touch on subjects Theatre and Decontamination Managers need to know but have little time to research, study or review during their daily roles.
Why Attend? Whether you are concerned about the threat of cyber security to your medical devices, or you want to know what happens at the MHRA, this conference should have something that managers can walk away with. We will find out where the 5 micrograms protein detection limit came from, and look at case studies from hospitals trying new systems to improve efficiency in Theatres. Delegates will have the opportunity to Network with industry colleagues, which has proven to be a good tool to gain new viewpoints, innovation, trouble shooting and efficiency savings. You can tailor the day to suit you with breakout sessions and there will also be access to an exhibition during break times which will allow technical staff to have in-depth discussions with a large number of suppliers in a relaxed atmosphere.
